Ashokrao Chavan

The young and dynamic leader of Nanded District. Politically smart and equiped with good leadership qualities born on 28/10/1958. He is M.B.A. from BYTCO College, Nasik. Basically a Science graduate.He started his career as Businessmen and Political Leader simultaneously.  He is successful businessmen as well as sucessful politician. He started his political career as General Secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee. At the first instance, it has been thought that his father is planting him in politics but  afterwords he has proved that he is equally capable to lead congress. He has one additional adavantage to his personality that he is master in consolidating the masses. Therefore, he is always backed by his followers whether he is in power or not. He has involved himself in Co-operative sector and installed Bhaurao Chavan Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana Ltd. which is successful Sugar Industry in region and stands next to Manjra Sugar Factory in Marathwada Region. Since he is basically a Management student, it has been observed that he workes with planning whether it is business or politics.

Achievements
In the year 1987-88 he waselected as M.P. from Nanded Parliamentary Constituency.
In 1992  M.L.C from the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Constituency .
In March 1993  Minister of State for Public works, Urban Development and Home .
At Present  he is Minister for Revenue and Protocols in The Government of Maharashtra.
President for Shree Sai Sevabhavi Trust of Nanded, a Charitable Trust.
President of Shree Sharda Bhavan Education Society, Nanded.

Apart from his political career he is involved in various social activities also.
